Bodies of Water

Yesterday, we trekked all through the small towns Hudson Valley and Catskill Mountains in search of water. We had a blast walking along the NYC reservoir and got a picture of what it takes to supply NYC with its drinking water.

We then drove through the winding back roads into the Catskills to Kaaterskill Falls. The trail was pretty much an easy hike, even though some of it had been washed out because of the storm. Kaaterskill Falls consisted of two separate waterfalls connected by a river. I climbed right two the face of both of them. I was so close two the the largest one, that I could feel the mist from the power of the water.

On the way back we stopped by a beautiful lake on the side of the road that was encased in a valley between two large hills. It was simply beautiful and really peaceful. After heading back to the hotel, we were dirty, exhausted and hungry. We changed ate pizza at Brios in a small town called Phoenicia, and called it a night.
